Who this policy applies to
CTS - Computer Technology Specialists is a Melbourne-based managed IT and cybersecurity provider at Level 30, 35 Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. This policy covers personal information we collect through cts.au, our contact form, and phone and email enquiries, as well as information handled in the course of providing our services. In this policy, 'personal information' has the meaning given in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to respond to you and deliver our services:
- Contact details you provide - your name, business email address, phone number, company name, and the content of your message when you submit our contact form, email us, or call us.
- Business and technical information you share with us during scoping, onboarding, or support - for example details about your IT environment - where you engage CTS for services.
- Website usage data collected automatically - pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and referring pages - through cookies and analytics.
- Technical data used to protect the site, such as IP address and request metadata processed by our content-delivery and security provider to prevent abuse.
How we collect your information
We collect personal information directly from you when you complete the contact form on cts.au, email hello@cts.au, or call 1300 790 780. We also collect website usage data automatically through cookies and similar technologies as you browse the site. We do not purchase personal information or obtain it from third-party data brokers.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use the personal information we collect to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide the information, quote, or assessment you request;
- deliver, manage, and support the IT and cybersecurity services you engage us for;
- communicate with you about your services, including support and service notifications;
- maintain the security, integrity, and performance of our website; and
- meet our legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations.
Contact form, spam protection, and email delivery
When you submit the contact form, it is checked by Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam and automated abuse, and your message is then delivered to our team by email through our transactional email provider, MailerSend. These providers process your submission only to protect the form and deliver your message to us. Your use of reCAPTCHA is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We do not use website enquiry details for unsolicited marketing, and we do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and analytics
cts.au uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site - for example which pages are viewed, and whether visitors click to call or submit an enquiry - so we can improve the site and our services. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects usage data in aggregated, pseudonymous form; we do not use it to identify you personally. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to browse the site or contact us.
Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We disclose it only to the service providers who help us operate the website and deliver our services, and only for those purposes. These include our website hosting and content-delivery and security provider, our analytics provider (Google), our spam-protection provider (Google reCAPTCHA), and our transactional email provider (MailerSend). We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law.
Overseas recipients
Some of the service providers we rely on store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union - for example Google, Cloudflare, and MailerSend. Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How we protect your information
CTS applies security controls aligned with the ACSC Essential Eight, including encryption in transit (HTTPS across the site), access controls, and monitoring, to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard the information we hold.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected - to respond to and follow up on your enquiry, to deliver contracted services, and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.
Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first. There is no charge to make a request, although a reasonable cost may apply to some access requests.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
